At an event organised by mac in collaboration with mesmerys makeup met the GURU Himself Mickey Contractor. The “meet and greet” event at ExpressAvenue Mall Chennai.
For those of you,who don’t know mickey contractor,he is the name for Mac cosmetics in India. He is the one who has been there in the industry since the Bollywood Diva’s like Rekha,Madhuri,Sridevi to Alia Bhat.
Guys,the only man who introduced a lipstick palette like Meher , Yash both are bestselling lipcolour in the Indian market. Meher is his wife’s name which is pink nude shade, Yash is an ode to a dear producer who is very close to Mickey . Still waiting for the launch of new shades at Mac.

Since I represent PLUS SIZE was there at the event and had to take tips from the man himself.

1) Firstly he said wear your confidence , so what that he is also bald.a
2) No contouring , leave the face one colour .
3) Hair plays an important role get a nice haircut which suits.
4) Highlight the eyes lips and high cheek bones.

Sorry guys for not posting for so long

Sorry guys for not posting for so long.. But I had gone on a holiday with family to Sikkim. But I must say, I really enjoyed my break.. The weather was pleasant and I really got to do some much needed bonding.
Also here is some advice while travelling:

  • Style in layers: It prepares you for any kind of weather and also helps you look slimmer.

  • Some essentials to carry while travelling to a Hilly terrain: Gumboots, Jackets, Scarves and an Umbrella.

  • Skin care is a must as your skin tends to become very dry.

  • Also, carry minimal day makeup, which you can quickly put on.

Glamorous in plus size

HI GUYS!!!    
In today’s article, I am going to write about being “Glamorous” in a Plus Size. One important rule to be followed while styling clothes for a plus size is to keep on trying clothes. Till you find the perfect fitted dress. Most plus size ladies are square shaped only. Always look for colours that will make u look slimmer and taller, like black, midnight blue, wine to name a few. 

Style steps for a perfect glamorous look.
1) Starting with the Hair: .The hair must be layered if you have a round face. Please leave your hair open and not a tie up, as the layers will help frame your face and cover it from the sides.
2) Try out Makeup contouring to make your face look slimmer.
I have worn, Smokey eyes,and a plum shade lipstick here (Lakme WM 110).
3)Shoes and bag have become essential part of the look. But,again you must be comfy and it should go well with the attire.I suggest wedges and block heels.
4)Neckline should be broad, empire neck,sweetheart or even a round neck. When you show more skin near the neck it will draw attention from the chest and focus on your neckline .
5) Accessorise with grand neck pieces as Plus size women rock bigger accessories. Whereas, small sized accessories make you look big in comparison.
6) Layering : I have used a boa, which is giving me a slimmer and taller look. It is also creating a drama around the glamour.

Lime Soda Pop Up

Hi Guys!!!
Don’t we all love to shop till we drop! But, sadly shopping is one of the biggest challenges for us plus size girls. However, I follow one rule- just to keep trying clothes until I am happy. Last week I went to the “Lime Soda Pop-up Trunk Show”. It was a fun event, after clicking selfies went around the show. A few Designers from the Lakme Fashion Week had also come there to showcase their latest collection. To my pleasant surprise, Aartivijay Gupta from Mumbai had plus size dresses.(Yes, and that too at an exhibition). 

Maxi dresses, Gowns , Shirt Dress. Her designs were quirky and she looked absolutely fab in her own creations too. She has dressed up Diya Mirza and the Style Diva Sonam Kapoor as well. I ended up buying a black and white ensemble from her. So yes, don’t forget to keep exploring girls and you will be pleasantly surprised at how many Indian Designers are actually beginning to make stylish clothes keeping every body type in mind.

Childs birthday

HI GUYS!!!

A child’s birthday party is as exciting for the kid as it is for us mom’s. It is a day for celebration. But please mom’s… remember to not dress up as a Christmas tree or your Shaadi wale kapde. Because this is also the day when you will be running errands, carrying things (your kid included, if he/she is a toddler) and greeting a lot of people.

Some simple tips which can be followed by all sizes :

  • Be comfortable: Shoes, Top, Pants.. they should all spell comfort as you will doing a lot of running around.

  • Wear small or easy accessories: Don’t wear hangings or clunky accessories which can get caught in things while you are organising games, or handling children.

  • Focus on Silhouette, instead of detailing: It is ideal that you go for an outfit which compliments your silhouette, rather than one which looks grand.

  • You will be photographed. a lot.. So make sure you carry touch up as you are bound to sweat with all the work you are doing.

  • Try wearing bright colors which make you look fresh for a longer duration.Wear a smile, as you will need it the most when you are greeting your guests and their little ones.

Most of the women blogs I come across, focus on loosing weight and counting the number of days it will take to do the same. With these perfect meal plans, hrs at the gym, yoga, cardio ,strength training et al.
But after a few months of some inspired perspiration, some of us stop exercising. And sadly also gain what we lost. I don’t deny the benefits to exercise, but I think the focus should be to stay healthy and not just to become a “Size Zero”.
